Life with my dad no more

This is the story of Aryan Khanna, one of my close friends. He shared the story of how he lived with his dad even after his death. Here I am stealing someone else’s story for you to read through.

Aryan narrated his story to me;
I lost my dad when I was 9 years old. I missed him so much till I got him back after a year. Just like every child who lost his dad at an early age, I was trying to find my dad in everything that could possibly remind me of him.
 It was my dad’s remembrance day; l loved going through his stuff whenever I missed him. His books, his spectacles...anything of his made me feel closer to him,” maybe to his memories “. I was trying to help my self going through his stuff, that’s when I got his old dairy.  My heart froze when I opened the first page. It said “HAI SON!!!” the second page, It surprised me even more... the first chapter was named “When you are able to read” which said only one thing repeatedly “do whatever you want to do, learn from your mistakes “.I followed his words all through my life. I made mistakes, tried not to repeat them and that made me better.

I finished my senior years in school. That’s when I fell in Love with Rayana, who later became my wife. My dad had a chapter in his book named “You and Your Girl “and that was my guide on finding my perfect one. He said if I can see my mom in the girl then, that’s my perfect partner.
Before making it into one of the best colleges in the country I got rejected three times because of my poor performance in the entrance test even after my trying harder each time. I didn’t know what was going wrong; I searched for answers in my dad’s book and I got my answer from the chapter “Try”. He said to me “you fail only when you give up, failure can only hit you when you stop trying”. I was not ready to fail I kept trying harder and on my next try I made it in.

Life moved on...

            With a job in hand after college, I was in a dilemma about what to do next. I was confused I wanted to try something on my own but I didn’t know what. The Job offer in hand was impressive but I was not happy. I expected an answer from my dad, he didn’t disappoint me.”The second option” Was about his view on choosing from the choices in life. According to him “second options are second because your first option doesn’t hold a place in your heart, second options will always be the best option”.
I choose to go with my second option of doing something on my own. I started a startup which helped companies to create logo designs, the idea didn’t work well. I had to shut down the company within a year. That didn’t make me sad because according to dad mistakes for the first time were allowed. I learned from my mistakes, worked on my management skills. Soon, I started a small company that makes sneaker designs. Initial stages were tough, but Rayana was there to hold me strong. Dad always wanted me to try harder and that’s what I did, success was on its way. Addidas accepted one of our new sneaker designs and that was the beginning of Aryan Khanna the sneaker designer.
With that happy news we were expecting our new family member, Rayana was pregnant. I was so happy, I went back to my dad’s dairy, by then I had finished reading almost all of it. I opened the last chapters “grandpa”, he just wrote a single line in his last chapter;

 “Stop reading son its time for you to start writing”.
